ABOUT IPRF

Indian PR Forum is India’s first and oldest online community of Public Relations professionals — born out of curiosity, shaped by collaboration, and sustained by the generous spirit of its members.

IPRF Journey

The journey began on 16th April, 2006, when Vikram Kharvi, having just stepped into the world of PR, found himself learning the craft from scratch. With no formal training and limited resources, he began picking up knowledge through reading, researching, and experimenting — all while handling PR for a five-star hotel in Mumbai. One of the biggest challenges back then? Getting access to credible PR knowledge and media contacts.

Instead of keeping what he learned to himself, Vikram decided to share. What started as a Yahoo Group quickly resonated with like-minded professionals across the country. The simple act of knowledge sharing struck a chord — and what followed was nothing short of a movement.

As platforms evolved, so did the forum: from Yahoo to Google Groups, then Facebook, LinkedIn, and finally into the dynamic space of WhatsApp, where it thrives today across five vibrant zone-wise groups — West, North, South, East, and Non-Metros. Along the way, it also dabbled with Telegram and Flock, always adapting to stay relevant.

What makes this forum special is how it has been democratised in the truest sense. There is no single owner or moderator. It has grown organically, collectively nurtured by the people who call it their own — a rare phenomenon in any professional domain.

The Indian PR Forum has become a safe, collaborative space where PR professionals — from newcomers to veterans — come together to learn, share, support, and grow. It is a community built not on hierarchy, but on trust, collaboration, and a shared love for the profession.
